Meos Fish Restaurant

A seaside fish restaurant where the lighting had to hold its own against the wide view of the Marmara. Antiqued brass ring chandeliers anchor the main hall and the enclosed terrace; they were designed at a scale that reads clearly at dusk without blocking the horizon. The entrance hall and side room carry warmer, lower-level fixtures.

Our Design Approach

At Meos Balık Restaurant on the Bakırköy shore, facing the wide view of the Marmara, the task of the lighting was not to compete with the view but to accompany it. In the main hall and the enclosed terrace, antiqued brass ring chandeliers were designed at a scale that reads clearly even at dusk yet never closes off the horizon line. Glass candle-holder details reproduce the flickering candlelight feeling of seaside evenings within an electrical system. The entrance hall and side room strengthen the sense of welcome with warm fixtures at a lower level.

Light by the Sea

In venues facing the sea, managing reflection and glare is critical. Fixture positions were determined after analysing reflections on the glass surfaces, and table surfaces were lit without darkening the view. At sunset, an automatic dimming scenario keeps the atmosphere of the hall in step with the light outside. For humid, salty air, all metal finishes were produced with corrosion-resistant coatings.

Details Specific to a Fish Restaurant

The display section that shows the freshness of the seafood was set apart with high colour rendering cool accents, while the seating areas use warm light at 2700 Kelvin. Maintenance of the ring chandeliers was made easier with lowerable suspension systems.

Process and Warranty

As in every project, the process began with a survey: the space was measured, sample units were submitted for approval, production was completed in our workshop and installation was carried out by our own team. All fixtures were delivered with long-life LED sources and easy-to-maintain standard lamp holders and access details. After handover, a commissioning visit fine-tuned the light levels under real conditions of use; our products are covered by warranty against manufacturing defects.
