Pehlivan Steakhouse

A large-scale restaurant for which a bespoke pendant series repeating along the dining hall was produced. At this scale, repetition demanded a consistent surface finish and colour temperature in every single unit.

Our Design Approach

Pehlivan Steakhouse, one of the largest restaurants in Sakarya, has a wide dining hall with high ceilings. Rather than crowning a space of this scale with a single chandelier, we designed a custom-made pendant series repeating rhythmically along the hall. The power of that repetition lies in every unit being identical: the surface finish of the brass bodies, the transparency of the glass and the colour temperature of the light sources were matched to the millimetre across the whole series. The eye therefore reads an unbroken line of light from one end of the hall to the other, while the tables receive warm, appetising illumination without glare.

Production and Installation Process

The project began with a survey and concept work; a sample unit was then produced and tested on site. Series production of the approved design was completed in our workshop, and delivery and installation were carried out by our own teams from a single source. Ease of maintenance, critical for restaurant operators, was also considered: all units have standard lamp holders, easy access and long-life LED sources. Light Planning and Comfort

In restaurant lighting we work with measurable comfort criteria: warm light of around 200 lux on table surfaces, a lower and softer level in circulation areas, a colour temperature of 2700 Kelvin and high colour rendering. At Pehlivan Steakhouse these values were balanced with the glass and metal details of the pendant series, producing an atmosphere that both preserves the natural colour of the food and does not tire the eye over long sittings. In working areas such as the service lines and the butcher counter, higher light levels were arranged on separate circuits, so the operator can manage every scenario from a single system.
